Teresa F. Blanco

Geometry, Mathematics in the Context of STEM Education

Dr. Teresa F. Blanco is professor at University of Santiago de Compostela. She holds a Bachelor Degree in pure Mathematics, and a Master Degree in Education. She also holds two PhDs: one in Numerical Methods in Partial Differential Equations and a second one in Didactic of Experimental Sciences. She is a known researcher in geometry and modelling, having supervised several PhD thesis in this area of research integrating STEAM. She is coordinating the area of Didactics of Mathematics and the Open STEAM Group. She is member of Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training Commission at the University of Santiago of Compostela. She is also member a of the SEIEM (Sociedad Española de Investigación en Educación Matemática) and she coordinated the SEIEM Scientific Committee. Apart from the above, Teresa is leading the Spanish National project EAMARE-STEAM, focused on Teaching and Learning of Mathematics through STEAM activities. She is also part of the Mathematics EduLarp project (Erasmus+). She has participated in two European projects related to STEAM education: STEMforYouth (Horizon2020) and KIKS (Erasmus+).
