Social Council of the UC

Jose Manuel Diego Mantecón (Open STEAM group leader) and his colleagues (Tomás Recio, Ángel Cuesta, Carmen García, Pilar Sabariego, Óscar Arcera and Zaira Ortiz) have been named a finalist in the Award for Educational Innovation 2018 of the Social Council of the UC. They have received this nomination for their contribution to the high school pre-service teacher training on STEM education as part of the Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training.

The award-giving ceremony took place in the Faculties of Law and of Economic and Business Sciences on 16th April 2019. The event was chaired by Mr. Ángel Pazos (Rector of the University of Cantabria), Ms. Dolores Gorostiaga Saiz (President of the Parliament of Cantabria), Mr. Eduardo Echevarría Lavín (Delegate of the Government in Cantabria), Ms. Paula Fernández Viaña (Counsellor of Presidency and Justice of the Government of Cantabria), Mr. Daniel Portilla Fariña (Municipal Councilor for Education, Youth, Heritage, Contracting and Transparency of Santander), Mr. José Luis Zárate Bengoechea (President of the Social Council) and Mr. José Ignacio Cayón Solar (Secretary of the Social Council).
