Open STEAM Group

Open STEAM is a research Group focused on teaching and learning of Maths through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) disciplines. Researchers and teachers participate in this group, coordinated by Teresa F. Blanco (University of Santiago de Compostela) and José Manuel Diego-Mantecón (University of Cantabria). This group has been involved in different STEAM education projects, such as KIKS (Erasmus+), STEMforYouth (Horizon2020), Inclusive Maths through STEAM (Spanish National project), Mathematics EduLarp (Erasmus+), STEAMTeach (Erasmus+) and AuthOMath (Erasmus+). The Open STEAM Group also collaborates internationally with schools and teachers.

Its main objectives are:

  • To offer STEAM activities for the different stages: Preschool, Primary and Secondary. The repository includes activities tested in Spanish schools.

  • To investigate the effects of STEAM education.
