Dr Zaira Ortiz-Laso received her degree in Mathematics from the Universidad de Cantabria (Spain). A year later, she graduated from the master’s program in Teacher Training in Secondary Education at the same university, specializing in Mathematics. Her master’s thesis explored the strategy choice involved in solving various mathematical tasks. In 2023, she obtained her PhD from the University of Cantabria under the supervision of Dr José Manuel Diego-Mantecón. Her thesis addressed the following research areas: teaching and learning mathematics in STEAM contexts, teacher training, active learning methodologies, design of curricular materials, and implementation of research findings in secondary education.
