Artificial Satellites and Modern Professions

Teacher guide

According to NASA, more than 2.250 artificial satellites are in orbit around Earth . The signals of these satellites are not only used by a vast array of professionals (scientists, mechanical engineers), but also find numerous applications in everyday life (GPS-telecommunications). Satellite science contributes to the improvement of the quality of our life, and shall continue to further advance science and space exploration. This activity has been developed in the framework of the STEMforYouth project.

Materials developed by students

8 students from Cantabria school developed a study on launching of artificial satellites in the academic year 2017/2018. This project was carried out in Physics regular lessons, and guided by one teacher (Silvia Puente). Students were in the 2nd year of Not Compulsory Secondary Education (2nd Bachillerato).
