Ramps and Accesibility

Teacher guide

The physical disabled people has a problem in our towns and cities. Some of them use a wheelchair, so they cannot go up stairs. To solve this problem, ramps are built for disabled people. These ramps must comply with legislation that specifies the width and inclination angle (or slope) of the ramp. Do the ramps in your city comply with the legislation? This activity was designed in the framework of KIKS (Kids Inspire Kids for STEAM) project.

Materials developed by students

A group of students from Sánchez Cantón school studied whether some ramps in Galicia (Spain) with the law or not. This project was carried out in outside the regular lessons, and guided by a teacher (Jose B. Búa).
